How does climate change affect the economy, people's health, biota and ecosystems?
These topics and many other issues will be discussed within the framework of the regional scientific and practical conference "Silk Road of Knowledge" organised by the Kazakh-German University,  scheduled to take place 25-27 November 2020.
Registration is no longer possible but the conference will be live streamed on YouTube and Facebook.

In September NKBA announced via a save-the-date the organisation of 3 webinars. Two of these have taken place on September 30 and October 28.

The webinar that was planned on 25 November has to be postponed to December 15 however.

The theme of this webinar will be ‘Kazakhstan in transition to a 21st century economy’. Please save the date; an invitation with more details of the programme and speakers will be send in the beginning of December.



On October 28 2020, The Netherlands Kazakhstan Business Association (NKBA) organised a webinar about  “Water and climate change in Kazakhstan.”

Our special thanks goes out to the speakers of the event:

  • Mr. Maksat Ayashev, Deputy President of the Committee on water resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan,
  • Barbara Janusz-Pawletta & Larissa Kogutenko of the Institute of Natural Resources, Kazakh-German University in Almaty,
  • Rieks Bosch, self-employed expert on climate change and water management in Central Asia and
  • Karen Meijer, expert at Deltares in water resources management, international public policy and public management.
